My baby boy, "Tiger" (who just turned 23 on my birthday) has a sad white hoof. The farrier accidentally cut it and it bled like crazy. Turns out it's something not like what people get called a "canker" but it can turn into cancer. I hate mud and we have had too much of it. Tiger stood around in a muddy pasture area to eat his hay. (He won't come in the barn to eat it most days)
We're working very hard with him to keep this getting better. It already looks better.

Into the darkness...
"When you walk to the edge of all the light you have
and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown,
you must believe that one of two things will happen:
There will be something for you to stand upon,
or, you will be taught to fly."

Lucy Loo...
I miss my "wild" turkey, Lucy Loo. She hasn't come back this year, but her offspring are here. None have become as friendly as she did.

Next year's word...
I don't know why this comes into my heart now, but it is a doubly meaningful word for me. My word for 2013 is *FAVOR*. I must favor my life with art, crafts, love, and meaning.
One of the actors in the old 1960's TV show was Eric Fleming..."Gil Favor" in the series "Rawhide". He died, tragically in a dugout canoe accident while filming for a movie. He was due to be married in just two or three more days. A very young 41 yrs old with a long story of an evil father, a sad series of careers, and then true happiness. He was an artist and sculptor.
Why not dedicate this coming year to him and to my art? Yes...*FAVOR*...for many reasons.

Music becomes love...
From a blog I happened upon, "Three Minutes to Nine", comes this quote and link. I hope you will enjoy about five minutes of love:
"...Life has a way of unfolding for us a bit differently than we had planned. Of course we always have the option to cling to our plans and make them work. But if we are willing to keep our hearts and minds open, it just might be that there are paths ahead that we would never have dreamed of.
I love the way God sometimes surprises us, redirects us, uses us to bring good to others and glory to Himself. Like He did with Abigail Washburn; like He just may want to do with you and me."
